Minneapolis, Minnesota - Rise Baking Company (Rise) has expanded its portfolio by acquiring Massachusetts-based Table Talk Pies (Table Talk), known for its full line of snack and dessert pies since 1924.

This strategic move bolsters Rise's position in the bakery industry, particularly in the pie segment, where Table Talk Pies has been a player for nearly a century.

Table Talk's President, Isaac Long, expressed enthusiasm about joining forces with Rise Baking, citing aligned values of innovation and quality.

This acquisition promises to leverage Table Talk's extensive experience in pie making with Rise's expansive distribution network and product range, offering enhanced growth and continued excellence in product delivery.

Brian Zellmer, Chief Executive Officer of Rise Baking Company emphasized the acquisition’s significance in expanding its market share in the pie industry.

This acquisition marks the second major pie-related expansion for Rise, demonstrating its commitment to growing its presence in this sector while maintaining the cherished heritage of the Table Talk brand.

With this merger, Rise now oversees 20 manufacturing facilities across the United States and Canada, employing approximately 3,700 people.

This expansion reflects Rise's strategic intent to diversify and strengthen its product offerings across the bakery spectrum, which already includes cookies, cakes, muffins, and artisan breads under various trusted brands like Brill and Best Maid Cookie Company.

The acquisition was facilitated by Olympus Partners, with Mike Horgan playing a key role. Legal advice was provided by Kirkland & Ellis LLP, ensuring a smooth transition and integration process.

This move is seen as a growth step by industry analysts and partners, highlighting Rise's adeptness at nurturing and expanding bakery brands under its corporate umbrella.
