Chicago, Illinois – ADM is pleased to appoint Nuria Miquel, PhD, as the new Chief Science Officer and Senior Vice President, effective August 1.
Dr. Miquel has been a part of ADM since September 2020 and has held the position of Vice President of Human and Animal Nutrition since October 2022.
Prior to joining ADM, she served as the Director of Technology and Innovation at Hempel A/S, and held the role of Senior Director at Chr. Hansen Holding A/S.
Dr. Miquel has also worked as the Business Development Director at Tate & Lyle and held senior positions at Novozymes as a Department Manager and Research Scientist.
Juan Luciano, Chief Executive Officer of ADM, expresses his confidence in Dr. Miquel’s abilities by saying “Throughout her illustrious career, Nuria has demonstrated exceptional leadership and expertise in the field of science, enabling her to build highly successful research and development teams that transform innovative ideas into commercially viable products, driving growth."
With innovation being an integral part of ADM’s culture and strategy, Dr. Miquel will lead ADM’s efforts to explore new possibilities in food, fuel, feed and industrial and consumer products derived from natural sources.
Dr. Miquel obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in Animal Science from the Universitat Politecnica de Catalunya.
In addition, she received a Master’s Degree and Doctorate in Veterinary Sciences, with a focus on nutrition and immunology, both from the University of Copenhagen.
Dr. Miquel succeeds Todd Werpy, PhD, who is retiring after leading the company’s research and development and innovation efforts for 16 years.
