Downers Grove, Illinois — Hearthside Food Solutions has announced that it will close its Anaheim, California, facility on April 27.
175 employees will be affected, according to a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) notice.
Hearthside Food Solutions is currently undergoing bankruptcy proceedings.
“As the leading contract food manufacturer, we are constantly evaluating opportunities to optimize our production network across our packaging segments to better position our company to meet the needs of our customers,” said Hearthside Food Solutions. “As such, we announced plans to wind down operations in our Anaheim, California, plant. This winddown period and plant closure will take place over the next several weeks.”
Hearthside Food Solutions’ parent company, H-Food Holdings LLC, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in November 2024. This process was intended to allow Hearthside Food Solution to reduce approximately $1.9 billion in debt.
“This difficult decision follows careful consideration of various factors, including market demand, operational efficiency and costs. We are grateful for the dedication and hard work of the team at the Anaheim plant, and our top priority is supporting all employees during this transition,” adds the company.
Hearthside Food Solutions closed a Nashville, Tennessee, facility in May 2024.
