Stonemill Bakehouse Retracts Gender-Based Packaging

In January, Stonemill Bakehouse received attention for its Wellbeing line’s gender-based packaging. Read about in Stonemill Bakehouse Reveals Gender-Based Breads Are Gender-Based Food Products a New Trend? After receiving feedback from consumers, the company has decided to continue selling its Wellbeing breads, targeted to the different health benefits specific to men and women, without the gender-based packaging.

In a note posted on Stonemill Bakehouse’s website, the company’s president discusses the intention of the Wellbeing products, as well as the company’s decision to withdraw the original packaging.  

“Thank you to all of our customers who have provided feedback on the recently launched Men's and Women's Wellbeing breads. We’ve had many positive comments about these new breads, but have also had some customers express concern about the gender-specific labelling,” said company president, Gottfried Boehringer.
